Welcome to the Pubs of

North East Telford,

in the old

East Shropshire Coalfield.

As part of a project, by the former North East Telford Studies Group (NETS), to list and record the Public Houses  (and their licensees)  of North East Telford, both past and present, I collected and collated numerous facts, information and photos of the licensed premises in the area of Telford, Shropshire which lies north of the M54 motorway but excludes Wellington**.

Although by no means complete, I believe this information may be of interest to others.

I would be pleased to receive any corrections or further information, if you can add to this work.

Contributions from past and present licensees would be especially welcome.

I can be contacted by E-mail at

There is a listing, by district, of the licensed premises, these link to the individual details of the premises, the information for each of the licensed premises can also be accessed by using the index and clicking on the pub's name.

For each property there is a listing of some of the licensees, and where available, there are details from the

other interesting items have also been noted were available.

There are two separate listings of the licensees, alphabetically by name and also alphabetically by the name of the pub.

If you are searching for a particular landlord, enter the name into the search box above.

A list of sources is given at the end.

The photographs are mainly my own work, and I retain the copyright to them.

The sources of other photos have been noted, where known.

If you are the copyright owner of any of the images,

please advise me and I will acknowledge your rights or remove the item.

the history of the East Shropshire Coalfield.
